Hamm Touches All the Bases, Hits for Cycle
Saturday, April 27th, 2019
It was a quite a day for Ron Hamm at The Ballpark at Potomac Yard ! He hit for the cycle, belting out every kind of hit there is in a baseball game -- single, double, triple and a home run. The Washington second baseman accomplished the rare feat during his team's 7-1 victory over the Eureka Hornets.
He told BNN reporters at the postgame press conference, "I never even thought about hitting for the cycle and what do you know, I did it. The cycle really doesn't matter to me, it is the 4 hits and the win that are important. But I guess it will be nice to see my name in the record book."
Hamm went 4-5 in the game with 2 runs batted in and 4 runs scored.
Ron Hamm grounded out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI triple in the 4th, doubled in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Edmond King in the 8th.
This season Hamm is hitting at a .255 pace with 7 home runs, 17 RBIs and has scored 16 times.
