Another Setback for Ramírez, Forced To Retire Tuesday, February 5th, 2019 Doctors told Aurelio Ramírez at the outset that his injury was potentially career-ending. As it happens, they were right. The Carolina starting pitcher informed his team that he would have to give up baseball and retire. Ramírez's injury, a torn flexor tendon in his elbow, was just too severe for him to continue his career as a player. The 30-year-old Ramírez told reporters he hopes to remain in baseball in some capacity in the Crush organization. |
