Monday, October 1st, 2018
Batting titles are tough to come by. It takes a lot of talent, hard work, consistency, few slumps, good health and a little luck. Lorenzo Rodríguez of the Oklahoma City Prowlers put it all together this year and led the Roberto Clemente League with a .369 batting average (227-616). The Prowlers left fielder played in 161 games, ending the season with 16 doubles, 3 triples, 47 home runs, 134 runs and 139 RBI. "When you work hard, good things happen," Rodríguez explained to reporters after winning the coveted award. "Slumps happen to everyone, but you won't break out of one without hard work. I think that's one of the prime reasons for my success this season."
