Crush, Cardinals Agree to Deal Tuesday, July 3rd, 2018 It took some time to iron out the details, but the Crush and Cardinals have agreed to a swap. Boston will get 31-year-old catcher Francisco Solano and 23-year-old minor league reliever Alberto Freitas with Carolina receiving 32-year-old starting pitcher Adam Thomas in return. A source close to the trade talks said the two clubs were initially looking to make a bigger deal, but discussions broke off late last night. The two sides reconvened early today and eventually settled on this deal. This year Solano is batting .217 with 20 hits and 3 home runs. He has scored 14 times and has batted in 13 runs. In 17 starts this year Thomas has recorded a 3-7 record and a 5.29 ERA. |
