The Carolina Crush were dealt a severe blow when Jeremy Gleave was hurt running the bases recently in a game against the Seattle Sasquatch. After the game, the team trainer reported Gleave might have to spend a lengthy time on the disabled list. Today doctors confirmed it, ruling the 33-year-old second baseman out for the rest of the season with a broken bone in the elbow. They indicated it would take Gleave at least 6-7 months to heal.

This season Gleave is batting .244 with 55 hits, 8 home runs, 26 RBIs, 58 walks, .397 OBP and has scored 37 runs. He has played in 70 games.
