Bautista Socks it to Jokers, Cracks 5 Hits Monday, June 18th, 2018 Who needs batting practice? Fernando Bautista of Kansas City apparently doesn't as he peppered Las Vegas with a 5-hit outburst in today's game. He got the hits, but lost the game. The Jokers pulled out a 9-7 win. He told the press after the game, "And I didn't even take BP today. I think I have been taking too many swings before game and decided to take a day off. This was really something... a 5 for 5 day... will my name be in the record books now?" One of his teammates hollered out, "No, only if your team wins the game!" Fernando Bautista hit an RBI single in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Buddy Wills in the 5th, doubled in the 7th and singled in the 9th. A look at his season totals shows Bautista with 19 home runs, .325 BA, .429 OBP, 57 RBIs and 49 runs scored. |
