5-Hit Blitz by Jacksonville's McMahon Friday, June 8th, 2018 It doesn't happen very often, but it happened for Will McMahon -- a 5-hit day. He went on a rampage at The Frozen Tundra and paced the Jacks to a 28-3 win over the Minnesota Berserkers. After his dynamite batting performance the Jacksonville center fielder told the press, "I just tried to get myself in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control." His philosophy paid some great dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 7 tries and put his name in the record book. Will McMahon singled in the 1st, grounded out in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, flied out in the 7th, hit a two-run single in the 8th and hit a three-run home run off Roy Cole in the 9th. So far this year in 60 games McMahon is hitting .262 with 8 home runs, 35 RBIs and 37 runs scored. |
