Yamamoto Strokes 5 Hits

"It was like I was hitting little league pitching," said Katsuhiko Yamamoto after his 5-hit performance against the Bandits. "No offense meant to Montreal, but it was like I was back in little league again. I could see the ball that well. But this wasn't a kid league park, it was Labatt Bleue Park."

The Las Vegas left fielder had a fantastic day at the plate, knocking out 5 hits in 5 at-bats and pacing his club to a 13-5 victory.

His manager elaborated after the game to the press, saying, "Katsuhiko worked the entire offseason on trying to shorten his swing and stay inside the ball and the hard work is paying off in base hits."

"That's what I'm trying to do," Yamamoto said. "Be quick to the ball and let it travel a little farther so I get a better look at it."

Katsuhiko Yamamoto doubled in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Rich Barrett in the 7th and singled in the 9th.

This season Yamamoto is batting .344 with 14 home runs. He has scored 28 runs and driven in 34.
