Bailey Spins Shutout
Saturday, September 23rd, 2017
"Good pitching beats good hitting" is an old baseball adage.
Well, good pitching also beats bad batting.
In his postgame interview the Jersey manager said, "Charles Bailey made us look real bad today. He was outstanding. He was down in the zone with all his pitches. Everything was sinking."
Bailey had 12 strikeouts, no walks and allowed only 4 hits as the San Francisco Earthquakes whitewashed the Jersey Jesters 14-0.
Bailey has made 30 starts so far this year and put up a 16-8 won-lost record with a 3.65 ERA. In 214.2 innings he has allowed 211 hits, walked 59 and struck out 202.
