Ashton Bangs Out 5 Base Hits Friday, September 15th, 2017 Today the Hops downed the Texans 12-9, but Tracy Ashton did his best to avoid that outcome as he lashed hits all over The Brew Stade in a 5-hit explosion, finishing with 5 hits in 5 at-bats. "I don't remember a better day batting, but it sure is disappointing to lose the game," the Dallas left fielder said to BNN reporters in the postgame interview. "A win would have made the day much sweeter." Asked if he had a hitting philosophy, Ashton said, "It makes it easier if you get a good pitch. The odds are in your favor then, not the pitcher's. I got a bunch of good pitches to hit today and I didn't miss any of them." Tracy Ashton singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Nathaniel Downs in the 7th and singled in the 9th. Currently Ashton has 3 home runs and a .291 batting average. |
