Short Sidelined for 8-9 Months
Monday, September 11th, 2017
Baseball can be a contact sport at times. It can exact a harsh toll on a player's body. In a recent game against Kansas City Tornadoes, Jacks closer Sid Short was injured throwing a pitch and is expected to miss 8-9 months with a partially torn ulnar collateral ligament. The team did not announce any roster moves today related to this injury. The Jacksonville skipper told BNN that personnel decisions would be announced as early as tomorrow.
Thus far this season Short has registered 50 relief appearances, worked 28.1 innings, struck out 15 and issued 6 walks. He has no saves with a 5.72 ERA and a 0-1 won-lost mark.
