McMahon Rips Cabo San Lucas for 5 Hits
Sunday, September 3rd, 2017
"It was like I was hitting little league pitching again," said Will McMahon after his 5-hit performanace against the Toreros. "No offense meant to Cabo San Lucas, but I could see the ball that well. But this wasn't a kid league park, it was Field de Los Layendas. I'm just not too happy that we lost 11-10."
The Jacksonville center fielder had a fantastic day at the plate, knocking out 5 hits in 6 at-bats.
His manager elaborated after the game to the press, saying, "Will worked the entire offseason on trying to shorten his swing and stay inside the ball and the hard work is paying off in base hits."
"That's what I'm trying to do," McMahon said. "Be quick to the ball and let it travel a little farther so I get a better look at it. It sure did work today."
Will McMahon singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off Brian Stewart in the 5th, singled in the 7th, hit a solo-shot off Gregory Erwin in the 9th and struck out in the 11th.
A look at his season totals shows McMahon with 5 home runs, .270 BA, .355 OBP, 16 RBIs and 28 runs scored.
