Bad News for Outlaws, Gómez Injured
Thursday, July 27th, 2017
Dealing with injuries is part of the game, and now António Gómez of the Outlaws knows this firsthand. He was injured against the Carolina Crush while throwing a pitch. Because of a torn labrum, the Nottinghamshire starting pitcher is expected to miss 4-5 months. Gómez was a little upset, but understands it comes with the territory. "Baseball can be a contact sport. You try to be careful, but no matter how careful you are, injuries happen."
In 22 starts this season Gómez has gathered 11 wins while suffering 2 losses. He has pitched 130 innings, allowed 129 hits, struck out 80 and has a 3.74 ERA.
