St. John Booms 3 Homers
Saturday, June 24th, 2017
Colin St. John of the Las Vegas Jokers had a lot to celebrate in today's 7-1 win over the Kansas City Tornadoes. Three times he celebrated by pounding the ball out of Lucky 7 Ballpark.
He kiddingly told reporters after the game, "Hopefully, I can continue to close my eyes and swing as hard as I can. It worked well today."
The powerful Las Vegas right fielder tagged 3 hits in 3 at-bats, drove in 4 runs and scored 3 times in his three-homer outburst.
St. John added, "Seriously, I just try to swing early and often to give myself a chance. I let the pitcher supply all the power, I just try to figure out how to get the bat on the ball."
"We talked about changing our strategy for the third one ... and then he hit another homer," the Kansas City manager said. "We just couldn't get him out."
Colin St. John hit a two-run home run off Guillermo Herrera in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Robert Cates in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Robert Cates in the 5th and walked in the 7th.
In his 2017 season totals, St. John has 21 home runs, .325 BA, .418 OBP, 60 RBIs and 56 runs scored.
