Matt Murphy Out for 4 Months
Monday, April 17th, 2017
The South Carolina Bombers learned that Matt Murphy is likely to be out for 4 months after he injured himself throwing a pitch in today's game against the Eureka Hornets. A round of tests by the team doctor revealed the injury to be forearm inflammation. Upon hearing the diagnosis, the South Carolina manager told the press, "As you all know, we can't control injuries -- they are a part of the game. We just have to do the best we can until Matt is back in action."

So far this season, Murphy has compiled a 0-0 won-lost mark with no saves and a 2.84 ERA. In 6.1 innings he has fanned 6 and opponents are hitting him at a .240 clip.
