5-5 Day for Burris Friday, June 10th, 2016 It was a hits blitz for Danny Burris at Trent Bridge. The Nottinghamshire Outlaws second baseman tore into Las Vegas for 5 hits in 5 at-bats to pace the Outlaws to a 7-2 victory and wrote his name into the baseball record book. The manager for the Jokers bemoaned his pitching, saying, "We fell behind and weren't locating well. Once you get behind in the count, you have to make real good pitches, rather than good pitches, and we weren't able to do that today." He added, "Not to take anything away from Burris, but bad location was the story of the ballgame. That's why we lost the game." Danny Burris singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th and singled in the 7th. This year Burris has batted at a .307 pace with 80 hits, no home runs, 22 RBIs and scored 38 times. |
