Mile High Stopper Takes Cy Young Award Thursday, November 13th, 2014 The Cy Young Award for 2014 has been presented and the Thurman Munson League winner is Manuel Ruíz of Mile High. "It's always nice to receive an award like this," said Ruíz. "I just hope I can improve on my performance next year and be in the running again," the Mustangs star told reporters. Ruíz excelled with an impressive 20-8 record in 35 starts. In 257.2 innings he yielded 248 hits and 49 walks, while striking out 189 and compiling a fine 3.04 ERA. |
