While the deal is certain to raise a few eyebrows, Maddox is expected to earn every bit of the $12,400,000 promised him over 3 years. Looking at his pitching stats this season, Maddox has made 39 relief appearances, pitched 41.2 innings and fashioned a 5-5 record with a 2.38 ERA.
