Shields Strokes 5 Hits Friday, May 23rd, 2014 Bandits catcher,Tim Shields, had his way with Minnesota pitching today at Labatt Bleue Park and mauled them for 5 hits in 5 at-bats, but it was all in vain. The Berserkers ruined his great day by outscoring the Bandits 8-7. He told reporters after the game, "I had a great day, but you got to give Minnesota credit, they did what they had to do to win the game. They weren't very impressed with my 5 hits after all is said and done. They did what they had to do -- win the game." The Berserkers skipper added, "Oh, I think we noticed what Shields did today. He had quite a game. I can tell you this, we will pitch him a little differently the next time we face him." Tim Shields doubled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a two-run single in the 4th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 8th. In 37 games this year Shields has posted a .359 average and put up these numbers: 1 home run, 21 RBIs and 21 runs scored. |
