Ruckus Reaps 2-Game Suspensions Wednesday, May 21st, 2014 Miguel Torres of the South Carolina Bombers was not happy with Jimmy Drake, and his frustration showed when he went after the Boston player during yesterday's game at Bomber Ballpark. Both benches cleared as they rushed to the aid of their teammates. Order was soon restored as Torres and Drake were pulled away from each other. They were ejected from the game. Both players were suspended 2 games by the league office as a result of their tussle. "It's something that happens in baseball every once in a while," Torres commented later. "We get frustrated with another player and sometimes things go too far. We'll both take our suspensions and then come back ready to play. I got no hard feelings." So far this year Torres has 7 home runs and a .208 batting average. This year Drake has worked 49 innings with 37 strikeouts en route to a 2-4 record and 4.59 ERA. |
