Mustangs Snap Bergeron's Streak at 22
Saturday, August 10th, 2013
Maybe it really is taboo to talk about a hitting streak before it's over. Hours after speaking to the press about his 22-game hitting streak, Eureka right fielder Mike Bergeron went hitless in 4 at-bats today in the Hornets 5-2 win over Mile High at McNichols Stadium.

In a postgame interview, he said, "Nope, not superstitious. Streaks don't last forever. Nobody jinxed me. I've heard about it every day for weeks now. My roomie told me to get a hit before every game and wished me luck. I just ran out of hits."

His manager said, "It's not like we could go 22 games without talking to him."

To date this season Bergeron is hitting .353 with 33 home runs.
