5-7 Day for Ling Sunday, June 17th, 2018 All game long ORIX's Cheng-qian Ling was rattling the walls at Ballpark of Aomori College and banging out base hits against the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks. When the dust finally settled on the diamond, he had a 5-hit day and the Buffaloes had a 20-6 victory. Speaking with reporters after his standout performance, the 17-year-old second baseman said, "Get 5 hits, win a ballgame, it's nice. I could get used to this." Cheng-qian Ling grounded out in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Asrutavrana Pundarik in the 7th, singled in the 8th and hit a two-run single in the 9th. For the season Ling is hitting .417, batted in 6 runs with 2 home runs and 7 runs scored. |
