Player of the Week Trophy to Skender Monday, May 21st, 2018 It was announced today by the Central League that Tokyo Yakult first baseman Volkan Skender had received the Player of the Week Trophy for his superlative play last week. The Tokyo Yakult first baseman wreaked havoc on opposing pitchers, pounding them for a .381 average (8-21) with 2 home runs and 13 RBIs on his way to claiming the honor. This year Skender is batting .345 with 59 hits, 12 home runs, 55 RBIs, 17 walks, .421 OBP and has scored 47 runs. |
