Xiu Picked PL Player of the Week Monday, May 21st, 2018 The premier performer in the Pacific League this week was Lai-hsiang Xiu of the Saitama Seibu Lions. The hot-hitting 17-year-old first baseman put up a .409 average and .536 on-base percentage, piling up 9 hits in 22 at-bats, 2 home runs, 12 RBIs and 5 runs scored. That kind of hitting got him the PL Player of the Week honors. In 52 games this season Xiu has compiled a .247 batting average with 48 hits and 10 home runs. He has also scored 42 times and knocked in 34 runs. |
