Hiroshima Toyo's Shiki Hayagawa Injured
Saturday, May 19th, 2018
It took the Hiroshima Toyo team doctor a while to realize it, but starting pitcher Shiki Hayagawa won't simply play through a partially torn ulnar collateral ligament after he got hurt throwing a pitch in today's Dragons-Carp game. At first, it looked like Hayagawa might be back as early as tomorrow, but now the prognosis isn't quite so good; he's expected to miss at least 7-8 months.
On his stats sheet this season Hayagawa shows a 4-3 record, 11 starts, 50 innings, 49 strikeouts and a 7.38 ERA.
