Xiu Selected PL Player of the Week Monday, August 14th, 2017 16-year-old Lai-hsiang Xiu made a few Saitama Seibu headlines during this past week as the rookie first baseman proved he could compete at the plate with his high-school idols. He captured the attention of fans, journalists and Pacific League officials last week and today took home Player of the Week honors for his effort. He cracked 7 hits in 12 at-bats to put up a .583 average. Xiu collected 3 home runs, 7 RBIs and scored 5 runs. To date, Xiu has collected 40 hits for a .296 average. He has posted 10 home runs, scored 24 runs and driven in 31 runs. |
