Hit Parade: Omori Pops 5 Hits
Friday, April 14th, 2017
Yokohama shortstop Taro Omori could do no wrong in today's 15-3 win over the Dragons as he collected 5 hits.
"In every one of his at-bats things were in his favor... he got hitter's counts," the skipper of the Dragons said to the press corps after the game.
Omori agreed. "The key is getting ahead. Once you get ahead, it makes it a lot easier because you get a better pitch to hit. You know the pitcher has to come in with it. And you're ready."
Taro Omori struck out in the 1st, doubled in the 2nd, flied out in the 3rd, hit a two-run single in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, singled in the 8th and doubled in the 9th.
So far this season Omori is batting .311 with 2 home runs, 13 RBIs and 16 runs scored. He has 33 hits in 106 at-bats, 14 walks and a .393 OBP. Omori has played in 25 games.
