PL's Best Player, Sakai of Saitama Seibu Monday, April 10th, 2017 Pacific League pitchers tried and tried all week long to stop Yukinaga Sakai, but to no avail. His eyes would light up when he came to the plate and he hit everything in sight, batting .550 for the week to win the PL Player of the Week Award. The Saitama Seibu second baseman cracked 11 hits in 20 at-bats, no home runs, drove in 3 runs and scored 6 times. For the year Sakai has hit .329 with 4 home runs, 13 RBIs and scored 14 runs. |
