Dragons Announce Ueda Will Retire
Thursday, June 9th, 2016
It's a somber day for Dragons fans as Akihiro Ueda announced that he will retire at the end of the 2016 season. The Chunichi reliever attributed his retirement to his age and loss of skills.
"I'm not the type of player I want to be anymore," he said. "It's harder go out there and be competitive. I'm not at the end of my rope yet, but I've seen guys hang around too long. I'm not going to be one of them."
