Pacific League Announces Best Starter Wednesday, October 1st, 2014 There's something about a young rookie winning the Pacific League Pitcher of the Month trophy that sends shock waves through the league. Such is the case with Ryoma Kondo, a 26-year-old starter for the Saitama Seibu Lions. In September, he topped off the month with a 3-1 mark and 2.03 ERA in 5 starts, tossed 31 innings, fanned 30 and held opposing teams to a .157 average. This season Kondo has fanned 139 in 130.1 innings and collected a 10-6 record with a 4.35 ERA. |
