Saitama Seibu SP Chikuda Will Miss 11 Months Tuesday, August 26th, 2014 "I'm frustrated right now," said Saitama Seibu starting pitcher Yoriyoshi Chikuda. "I can't help this team by sitting on the bench or in the training room." Unfortunately for the Lions, that's where he will be spending 11 months. Chikuda suffered a torn labrum in today's game against Chiba Lotte while throwing a pitch. "Believe me," he said, "I won't be out a day longer than I have to be." In 22 starts this season, Chikuda has picked up 5 wins while suffering 10 losses. He has pitched 115.1 innings, allowed 128 hits, struck out 127 and posted a 5.62 ERA. |
