Torrid June Gets Iijima CL #1 Batter Trophy Tuesday, July 1st, 2014 When Tsuramatsu Iijima stepped up to the plate in June, he did it with confidence and today he was honored with the Central League Batter of the Month award. The young Hanshin right fielder posted a .444 batting average with 4 home runs, 25 RBIs and scored 18 runs. Iijima also worked pitchers for 8 walks to post a .494 on-base percentage. This year Iijima has hit at a .371 clip with 53 hits, 5 home runs, 34 RBIs and 31 runs scored. |
