Sakei Awarded June's PL Top Bat Prize Tuesday, July 1st, 2014 For a rookie just breaking in, Totoya Sakei certainly put together a successful month. It was good enough to win the PL Batter of the Month award for June. The 24-year-old third baseman for the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles hit .362 with 5 home runs, 27 RBIs and 15 runs scored. For the year Sakei is batting .303 with 13 home runs, 59 RBIs and 48 runs scored. |
