Kawai Rips Tohoku Rakuten for 6 Hits Sunday, June 15th, 2014 Masamune Kawai had an answer for everything Tohoku Rakuten threw him today at Sailboats Ballpark. In 6 at-bats he made good contact and 6 times he drilled the ball for a base hit. The ORIX third baseman went 6 for 6 in the game to get his name in the record book. However, his great performance was not enough to produce a victory. His club, the Buffaloes, took it on the chin 10-9 against the Golden Eagles. "I know you can't win 'em all," he said, "but it sure would have been nice to win this one. To get 6 hits and lose is just not the way it should be." Masamune Kawai hit an RBI double in the 1st, hit an RBI triple in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 5th, singled in the 7th, singled in the 8th and singled in the 9th. For the year Kawai is batting .463 with no home runs. |
