Onishi Picks up PL Monthly Pitching Honor Sunday, June 1st, 2014 May's top hurler was Takao Onishi of Hokkaido Nippon-Ham. He shackled Pacific League hitters the entire month and claimed the Pitcher of the Month award with a sparkling 4-0 mark. The 19-year-old Onishi added 35 strikeouts in 28.2 innings and 2 walks to his season record and compiled a 0.94 ERA. Other clubs hit .129 against him. This season Onishi has compiled a 8-0 record with a 2.15 ERA. |
