Week's Premier Player: Hokkaido Nippon-Ham's Takeuchi Monday, September 23rd, 2013 27-year-old shortstop Kohei Takeuchi of the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters is the talk of the Pacific League for putting on a torrid hitting display last week and claiming the Player of the Week Award. Takeuchi rapped out a sensational .462 batting average with 6 hits in 13 at-bats, 2 home runs and 6 RBIs. Thus far this year Takeuchi is batting .291 with 27 home runs, 91 RBIs and 81 runs scored. |
