White Strokes 5 Hits Saturday, April 14th, 2018 It was a good day for the Legends at Ballpark of Red Deer College as they clipped the London Monarchs 23-1. It was tremendous day for Doug White, who went on quite a hitting spree with a 5 for 5 barrage. The Saskatoon first baseman told reporters after his big 5-hit performance, "I don't have any buzz words. I'm not 'dialed in' or 'in a zone,' as they say. As far as the hitting goes, I try to keep it simple. I try not to look into it too much. Basically the pitcher throws the ball, I try to pick up the spin, then try to hit it. Today I picked up the spin very well." Doug White singled in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Carlos Marino in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit a GRAND SLAM off Eric McGill in the 4th and hit a two-run single in the 5th. So far this season White is batting .370 with 15 home runs. |
