5-Hit Blitz by Méndez Friday, March 23rd, 2018 On top of the Calgary hit parade today was Raúl Méndez. He went to the plate 5 times and marched away with 5 hits, sparking the Outlaws to a 12-6 victory over the London Monarchs. The sweet swinging shortstop told reporters, "Each time I went to the plate, I was thinking about hitting the ball hard somewhere. When I focus on that, I usually have quality at-bats." The skipper of the Monarchs wailed to the press, "Too much plate. Not the way we planned it. Any hitter in the league will rip you when you do that." Raúl Méndez singled in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 8th. Méndez is presently hitting at a .360 pace with 1 home run, 4 RBIs and has scored 13 times. |
