Bowles Touches All the Bases, Hits for Cycle
Sunday, March 4th, 2018
It was a quite a day for Ray Bowles at Brantford College Grounds! He hit for the cycle, belting out every kind of hit there is in a baseball game -- single, double, triple and a home run. The Saskatoon shortstop accomplished the rare feat during his team's 20-2 victory over the Kelowna Heat.
He told BNN reporters at the postgame press conference, "I never even thought about hitting for the cycle and what do you know, I did it. The cycle really doesn't matter to me, it is the 4 hits and the win that are important. But I guess it will be nice to see my name in the record book."
Bowles went 4-5 in the game with 1 run batted in and 4 runs scored.
Ray Bowles tripled in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Sergio Hernández in the 5th, doubled in the 6th and struck out in the 6th.
