3-HR Game for Lush Sunday, June 12th, 2016 Victoria right fielder Jonathan Lush sensed he was going to have a good game at the plate, but he underestimated just a little bit. Prior to the game, Lush predicted he would hit a home run against the Montreal Royales. During batting practice he told his teammates, "I really got my swing down pat. I feel some thunder in the lumber. I'm gonna get me a home run in this game." He was right. He did hit a home run -- three of them, in fact -- pacing the Capitals over the Royales 13-6. "I was seeing good, feeling good and swinging good," Lush told reporters after the game. To go along with the homers, he collected 9 RBIs and scored 3 runs. Jonathan Lush hit a two-run home run off Thad Martin in the 1st, walked in a run in the 2nd, walked in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Xiao-yong Shuang in the 6th and hit a GRAND SLAM off Larry Waltenbery in the 7th. Thus far this season in 54 games Lush is batting .343 with 23 home runs, 67 RBIs and 62 runs scored. He has 73 hits in 213 at-bats. |
