Bouchet Slams 3 Homers for Stars
Thursday, April 7th, 2016
Three home runs in a game doesn't happen often. When it does it is usually something special to celebrate. But Hervé Bouchet of Niagara couldn't really celebrate it. In spite of his career day, the Stars lost to the Saints 21-14. However, he can celebrate that he joined a select group of players who have hit three home runs in a single game. He powered three into the stands today against the Trois-Rivieres Saints.
In all he was 4-5 against Trois-Rivieres with 5 RBIs and 4 runs scored.
Bouchet told reporters after the game, "It's rare that you actually try to hit a home run. Most of the time you fail, if you really try to hit one. But today I tried on the last one."
His manager added, "He is blessed with a natural home run swing. He gets the ball up in the air real quickly. It's just a shame we couldn't win the game, too. I'm sure it spoils the day a little for him. Hervé is quite a competitor."
Hervé Bouchet hit a two-run home run off Earl Skinner in the 1st, flied out in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Earl Skinner in the 4th, singled in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Patrice Lemoine in the 8th.
Thus far this season Bouchet is hitting .385 with 7 home runs, 12 RBIs and 8 runs scored. He has 10 hits in 26 at-bats and has played in 7 games.
