Oger on Fire, Named Player of the Week
Monday, June 2nd, 2014
A hot-hitting week got Joël Oger the Lester B. Person League Player of the Week trophy. He really wore out his welcome with league pitchers.
The Niagara third baseman slammed them for a .423 average, 11 hits in 26 at-bats, 3 home runs, 8 RBIs and scored 10 runs.
In the postgame press conference, Oger shared his hitting philosophy with the BNN scribes: "Just look for the seams and hit between them... nothin' more than that."
In 53 games this season Oger is batting .358 with 72 hits and 20 home runs. He has scored 59 runs and driven in 55.
