Fitzpatrick on Fire, 5-5 Against Victoria Monday, May 5th, 2014 It was a good day all around. Calgary whipped Victoria 13-6 and Neil Fitzpatrick displayed a hot bat, enjoying an outstanding 5-hit day at Corvettes Ballpark. "Some days, lady luck is on your side," he modestly told BNN reporters after the game. His manager told the beat writers otherwise, "His hitting wasn't luck today. It's his solid approach to hitting. Neil is focused, patient and he hits to all fields. The more solid at-bats you put together, the more success you're going to have." The 28-year-old first baseman for the Outlaws collected 5 hits in 5 at-bats to get his name in the record book. Neil Fitzpatrick hit a solo-shot off Jacques Mathis in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 4th, singled in the 6th, walked in the 7th and singled in the 8th. This year Fitzpatrick is hitting .256 with 22 hits, 5 home runs, 11 RBIs and has scored 24 runs. |
