3 Roundtrippers for Jacobs Thursday, April 5th, 2018 Today was a special one for Todd Jacobs of the South Mississippi Golden Eagles as he slammed three home runs in the 10-0 win over the Arizona State Sun Devils. "Lately, I been uppercutting the ball too much. I would hit it hard, but they just went sky high and stayed in the ballpark," he said to sportswriters after the game. "No big long outs for me in this game. I leveled out my swing and connected on the sweet spot three times. I knew they were gone the minute I hit 'em." The South Mississippi first baseman had quite a game at Ballpark of Storm Lake College as he collected 3 hits in 4 at-bats, drove in 4, and scored 3 runs. Todd Jacobs struck out in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Claudio Domínguez in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Claudio Domínguez in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off Edwin Brennan in the 7th. So far this season Jacobs is batting .292 with 12 home runs. |
