Ray and Lowe Fight, Suspended 5 Games Saturday, March 31st, 2018 Yesterday at Field of the Plunder Corbin Ray and Ronnie Lowe got into each other's space and then into each other's face. They began to grapple and fell to the ground. That's when it boiled over into a full-fledged bench-clearing tussle between the Georgia Bulldogs and Ohio State Buckeyes. Reason finally prevailed as the umpires restored order. After much discussion, only the two major combatants were ejected from the game. Today the league office notified both ballclubs that Ray and Lowe would be given 5-game suspensions for fighting. This year Ray is hitting .291 with 10 home runs and 22 RBIs in 23 games played. He also boasts an OBP of .392 with 13 walks and 23 runs scored. In the 2018 campaign Lowe has 5 saves. In 10 relief appearances he has tossed 7.2 innings, struck out 10 and yielded 1 walk with a 1-0 record. The Ohio State reliever has recorded a 2.35 ERA and allowed the opposition to hit .222 when he is in the game. |
