Ruckus Reaps 9-Game Suspensions Friday, March 16th, 2018 You would have thought you were at a hockey game yesterday at Field of the Shield. A free-for-all broke out when Bartolo Valentín of South Illinois and Ramón Ortíz of South Carolina rushed one another on the field and had to be restrained by umpires and teammates. Few blows landed, but it was enough for them to be ejected from the game. Today both teams received notification from the league office that the two players would be suspended for 9 games. For the season Valentín is hitting .293, batted in 5 runs with 3 home runs and 5 runs scored. |
