Miller Smacks 3 Out of the Park Saturday, April 22nd, 2017 Going... Going... Gone! Paul Miller did it three times in the Louisiana-Layfayette 17-8 victory over the Rice Owls. Three home runs in one game! "I was in a groove," he said, "and every pitch they tossed up there looked like a grapefruit." Commenting after the game to the press, the elated Miller explained, "I tell you what, I was so shocked because I didn't think the last ball had enough to get out. I thought it was just going to be a long out." For the day the Louisiana-Layfayette third baseman went 3-3 against Rice with 7 RBIs and 3 runs scored in a brilliant display of power hitting. Paul Miller hit a two-run home run off Jesús Castillo in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Jesús Castillo in the 4th, walked in the 5th, hit a three-run home run off Liam Hamilton in the 6th and walked in the 8th. Miller is hitting .364 in 2017 with 48 RBIs and 21 home runs. |
