Atkins Razor-Sharp, Shuts out Rice Thursday, April 20th, 2017 "That was one of my best outings," said Mark Atkins. "I was worried a lot in the bullpen. My ball wasn't quite right. Luckily, it can be two different worlds -- the bullpen and the game. Once I stepped on the field, it all fell into place." It was an impressive start for the Green Wave hurler. He blanked the Owls 10-0 on a strong 3-hitter while ringing up 7 strikeouts and doling out 3 walks. So far this year Atkins has made 9 starts, tossed 48.1 innings, struck out 44 batters and walked 24. His record is 2-2 with a 5.03 ERA and he has limited opposing teams to a .320 batting average. |
