5-6 Day for Díaz
Monday, March 27th, 2017
5 times is a charm -- at least in the world of baseball. When a player gets 5 or more hits in a game, he is honored in the record book and the latest honoree is Aurelio Díaz of the Ole Miss Rebels. He tore up the Stanford Cardinals to the tune of 5 hits in 6 at-bats in the Ole Miss 10-4 win today at Surfers Ballpark.
"Díaz was a tough out today," the Stanford manager said to the press in the postgame interview. "He hit some very good pitches with that quick bat of his. Not an easy out, that's for sure."
Aurelio Díaz struck out in the 1st, doubled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, singled in the 8th, singled in the 9th and hit an RBI single in the 10th.
Thus far this year Díaz is hitting .316 with 5 home runs, 15 RBIs and 13 runs scored.
