Hatch Booms 3 out of the Park Wednesday, March 22nd, 2017 Clark Hatch penned his name in the record books after an explosive home run spree against Oregon. He's now among the select sluggers who have hit three home runs in a game. In his record-setting day at Crunch Ballpark the Arizona first baseman went 3-4 with 3 RBIs and scored 4 times in the 12-6 victory over the Ducks. "It was just one of those days," he said in the postgame interview. "I don't know how to explain it. I'm just putting a good swing on the ball." "Hatch was locked in," the Oregon skipper said. "We made some pretty good pitches. Those first two homers were exactly where the pitcher wanted to put them. He's pretty hot right now. You've just got to tip your hat." Clark Hatch hit a solo-shot off Chad Ross in the 2nd, struck out in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Jesús García in the 4th, walked in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Curt Alexander in the 7th. So far in 2017 Hatch is batting .358 with 5 home runs, 12 RBIs and 14 runs scored. He has 19 hits in 53 at-bats and a .452 OBP. |
